بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وأفضل الصلوات
والسلام على رسول الله سيدنا محمد
What I want to share with you guys
is something that is straight forward which is, the basic idea of making
changes. Something about changing ourselves..something about changing the
condition of the ummah. It is very easy to complaining about people with
efforts in making changes, complaining about the lack in someone's qualities,
which most of us were just loved to brag about how bad things are as it's like
an entertainment session for us. Plus, in sometimes, when the efforts in reminding people about "الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر"
seems to be a little pinched
and less productive, here comes the part where the others constantly
complaining about the people whom making the efforts until their past is just
became full of complaint. But then, who
they really are as always making fuss of that?
First of all, changes is not in our hands, it is in Allah's guidance. Allah
says:
إن الله لا يغير ما بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم""
No doubt that it is Allah He does
not changes one's condition or whatever that is afflicting condition until
they(people) change what is afflicting in themselves. Even in this verse, Allah
attribute the"change" itself to Himself. He didn't say "people"
will change things but He says "He"(Allah) will change things for
them. They just have to make changes inside themselves.
My dear friends,
The real bad of all of us have, is
against ourselves. Worst enemy is like the best friend of ourselves. No one knows
us better than ourselves. If there is one person that knows all of our
weaknesses, all the bad habits that we have, if there is someone that is really
really knows all these, that is ourselves. Frankly speaking, sometimes they're
kind of people who loves to show their domination among the other, their
superior, which sometimes goes in a devious way, most of the time they're
telling the people about the religious-like opinion and thus expressing their
superiority. These type of people always want to make sure that the others
always fell like they do not know about the religion, and claimed they're the
only one who understand islam until the
religion itself become the mean for themselves in promoting their own egoism.
It is indeed ironic because the religion is revealed for us to humble ourselves
and yet many of us used it to express our arrogance. We feel very full of
ourselves until that it reached the level of الرياء والتكبر والصمعة"". Psychologically
speaking, some people loves to picture themselves in the community. They are so
used to impressing people with how religious they're, how knowledgeable
they're, how committed they're and etc, and they're constantly putting up that
'images', until they start convincing themselves that's what they really are. I'm
not saying that these are wrong and no one should do this, it is good, but
first we need to change the weaknesses and the 'devious' side in ourselves
before minding about other people. My friends, we have to be able to be honest
on ourselves if we want to talk about "changes". We must be able to
stop with excessive complaining about people's acts, and start reviewing about
our own's fault..
-"What am I doing
wrong?"
- "what are my
shortcomings?"
-"if I can make a little four
or five changes in myself and doing it differently, what would it be?"
-"what are the things that I
didn't accomplished last year, and I really want to?"
-"I want to memorize two more
surahs..i want to achieve higher pointer in my academic..i want to
finish reading and memorizing hikam ibn Atoillah..i want to know more
people..i want o do this, I want to do that and I really want to".
The thing that keeping us from
making those changes, that is the real deal, mate. Usually, there's going to be
repeatation in our daily activites, so we must always think of something that
we could do better. There's definitely some way that we can use our time
better, and thus be more productive on something on our daily lifes. If we can
make change and fix one day, we have the potential to make changes and fix our
whole life, buddy. Try to fit everything into their specific time. There is time
for solat..time for Quran..time for studying..time for
riadhah..just plan our life. Most important, make those changes in our life.
But guess what? Many of us failed to maintain balance in our life, perhaps due
to the reason we pulled from many directions. Our friend want their time, our
community want their time, our jamaah want their time and we ourselves, we want to be left
alone to ourselves, these are the different pulls and it is important for us to
maintain these pulls. A lot of times, when we failed to do it, we end up in
wrong things in one or another. This is the biggest change you can bring in
your life to create balance. There are people who gave a lot of time for their friends, but for
their own housemates no time at all. There are people who spend a lot of time
with their friends but no time for their parents. There are also type of people
whom so bend in fixing their carier, they are almost not exist in the life of
their own child. It happens. Do some prioritize, buddy, between which one is
priority, which one is unnecessary. So we need to access sincerely in
ourselves. About what changes do we have to make.
As for me, the real changes
is started with the way we spend our time. The real asset that all of us have
is time. If you can manage it properly, then your life will move towards the
better, and if not your life is moving towards the worse. That is essentially
what it pulls down to. We have to become the people whom make a productive use
of their times. All things should be specified according to the righteous time.
Allah tells us about the sun and the moon, they follow their order. All of the
acts of worships that we do in Islam is somehow follow upon the sun and the
moon ; the prayers, fasting in ramadhan, eid, hajj and the hijri calendar. Allah tells us that the sun and the
moon followed their précised order and what we're learning from that is that
our entire life should it's précised order. We should have some kind of
discipline; lay out a sketch in our life. Otherwise, we'll keep thinking "
I should get that job done" but we will never get it done, because we
never make specific time for it. Indeed, its going to be a personal affair,
each of us have to look at our own life and see "where can I make those
changes". Sometimes, I myself is
the kind of people which used to play video games, texting messages and
start drooling, tweeting, facebooking, watching movies, I just forgot that sun
goes up and down and it really doesn't matter to me. Sometimes ,I'm really are.
But yet, we have to show our respects to time..and that's the real change we
could bring in our life and stop complaining about unnecessary stuff.
All of
these will happen when we ourselves personally bring up the changes in our life
and don't be scared to make those changes. I hope all of you benefits from this
little opinion,
may Allah s.w.t guides us in this life and in the life
hereafter.
